In the first season of Forever Home, we explore various facets of animal rescue through the eyes of our main character, Lizzie Borden. She introduces us to her fellow rescue volunteers and some homeless pets in need of foster and forever homes. In this season, we touch upon Fospice care, senior dog adoption and animal cruelty.
We are proud to be working with various organizations and vendors this season to bring to life this story.
Forever Love
Sam Abdrabouh at Wespaw Pets generously donated his pet store as an adoption site for various rescue groups for the past several years. We are grateful he lent us the space in Wespaw Pets in Queens, NY as one of our first locations for episode one.
We also want to acknowledge Muddy Paws Rescue where Sophie, our foster dog actress, is currently residing while waiting for her Forever Home.
It's a Rat Race
We were lucky enough to get the talented Bill Murray, a former fostered rat, and his agent, Heron, to help us out with our second installment. A special thank you to Mainely Rat Rescue for connecting us.
In addition to the talented Bill Murray, we also worked with several wonderful dogs needing homes from BARC, Brooklyn Animal Rescue Coalition.
Melissa Wiedemann with Barking Photo, who regularly volunteers her pet photography services for BARC's adoption events, was generous enough to share her talent and expertise in episode two. You can check out some of her amazing work at her Barking Photo website.
Fospice is the Spice of Life
Foster Dogs of NYC and their fospice coordinator, Laura Irwin, were instrumental in providing us background on fospice care and also our fospice canine actor, Beau.
All Dogs Know Love
Jude from A Pathway to Hope is featured in our 4th episode about a former bait dog needing a loving home. A Pathway to Hope is a foster based rescue in northern Jersey dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of abandoned dogs and cats with a focus on special needs cases.
Chicken Nuggets
Ready for Rescue has been rescuing at risk dogs and cats in NYC's high kill shelter system for over 5 years. They rely strictly on fosters to help find forever homes for the animals they rescue. Nadine, one of their foster parents, brought her foster kitty, Mrs. Garrett, for our fifth episode.
Rescue Me
Urban Garden Center let us borrow some chickens for our last installment of FOREVER HOME to show there are many species in need of help.
